@Grace: yep it's pretty regular - periods pretty much on time and always 6 days. I am hoping o'ing early has been what had us hung up before, I mean that's obviously best case scenario! We recently moved states so either way Nov is find a new OBGYN month and if its BFN then ill be charting too. FX! Thanks for all the insight!!! :-)

@KJfromNJ: I assume you cycle is quite regular right now? That's supposed to be a good sign. Plus, look at it this way - if you are Oing early, you just might have not been timing things well and now that you know, you might not have to go through many serious cycles!

@Grace: option 1 was not depressing! I guess I just thought positive opk meant ovulation an dust realize options 2 and 3 above could happen. If this cycle doesn't work out ill definitely be charting next cycle. Womppp.

@KJfromNJ: Lol - why depressing? Does it mean that it wasn't timed properly? You can still get pregnant if you ovulate early.

@Grace: thanks for the reply! Although its more depressing than anything lol. The opk was digital so no lines, just a smiley face.

@KJfromNJ: I have three theories:

1). It's possible that you are having an oddball short cycle this time. Perhaps you will get AF on Nov 7 (give or take a few days), because this time you happened to ovulate earlier than normal (ovulation day can change cycle to cycle, but usually the TWW is 12-16 days).

2) A positive OPK doesn't necessarily mean ovulation. Your body can gear up to ovulate (giving a pos OPK) and then not ovulate. The only easy way to know for sure if you've ovulated is to be taking your basal body temp (it goes up after ovulation).

3) I have heard that people with PCOS can have high LH all the time which gives a positive on the OPK (and ovulation doesn't happen).

Geesh, that was long. But I just thought of another one. When you tested was your positive line as dark or darker than the control line? Often I have a light line a few days before ovulation but doesn't get dark enough to be positive until a few days later.

I ovulated early the month I got pregnant! I thought for sure I was ovulating late because my cycles had been around 40days. I started using the opks, and got 7 negative from cd11 through cd18. I thought for sure I wasn't ovulating. But I had ovulated early! I waited to test until af was 1 week late(cd 36), knowing for sure I wasn't pregnant... Little did I know! I wish I had advice for you!

Hey everyone! TTC here, first serious cycle, a lot of NTNT and slacker "tries" months prior.

I have PCOS and wasn't sure if I was even ovulating. I recently lost a significant amount of weight so I hoped that will help. This cycle I got ovulation tests to be more accurate. PD1 was 10/16. I did my first ov test on PD 6 aka Sun (last day of AF) and it was neg. I forgot to do the ov test on Mon 10/22 and in the morning on 10/23. I remembered and did it that evening- and it was a positive! I wasn't expecting to ov until the 27th-ish, if at all.

I have heard obviously of the TWW before testing but obviously the best "sign" is missing your period. TWW should be about 11/6 (I plan to test 11/7 because I'm going out of town that night for a few days) but then don't expect my period until around 11/12, which would mean longer than a TWW until my period comes- almost 3 weeks!

This is messing with my mind. Not to mention my abdomen feels VERY weird today. Not pain, just a weird feeling, almost like cramps but much fainter. But my period is pretty reliable so I don't think it's AF coming 10 days early or anything. I took a cheapo test I had laying around but didn't realize until AFTER it's not a early detection one. It was, of course, a BFN.

When should I be expecting to test accurately? Do I truly have to wait til 20DPO? Anyone else an early ovulate-er?
