Not much! I lay out her clothes the night before. She gets a banana or Cheerios in the AM if she is hungry. But daycare gives her breakfast lunch and snack so no prep needed!

@daniellemybelle: Oh and another thing, if you have to sign up for stuff, always sign up for the same thing...like I always sign up to bring the cups, napkins, etc for class parties. I can buy it ahead and keep it at home, no last minute scrambling.

I also make hard copies of all correspondence on when I need to send something in and keep it handy.

I posted this question right before I went back to work and baby went to daycare too. This is what I found works for me... I do all morning solo, DH leaves for work around 5:15am.

Night before:
Shower
Pack bottles
Pack lunch for myself
Get coffee pot ready to just flip on in the morning

Morning:
6:30am: alarm goes off (if baby is awake, I leave him in the crib, he just basically talks to himself and makes sure I know he is awake). I get myself ready.
6:45am: Change diaper, get baby dressed for the day, bottle
7am: Head downstairs, turn coffee pot on to warm up, put baby in carrier and walk dog
7:10am: Feed dog breakfast, put coffee together and baby in car seat
7:20am: Dog in crate and out the door

The hanging organizer is genius! Thank you @looch: ... I may do that for myself too...

Night before: Wash all bottles/pump accessories, prep my meals for the day, set bags on counter for all things that need to go with us in the morning (out of sight out of mind and often forgotten), pick out clothes.

Morning: Toddler gets up, diaper changed, clothed, into infants room to read while I get infant up, downstairs and gets own snack while I get everything together and get the infant stuff. Everyone to the car - once in their seats/belted I go back in and grab our "stuff" - while checking boxes on a mental checklist!

DH prepares the lunches ahead of time. Usually he does a couple days together. He puts the stuff in little tupperware type containers in the fridge. In the morning I get DS up, then I get ready. If I don't get him first, he usually starts crying :bummed: . He watches something on my phone while I shower/get dressed. Then I grab clothes (easy, just shorts, t-shirt, undies), and take him to the potty. While he pees I get him dressed. Then we go downstairs and have breakfast.

He eats breakfast in his learning tower while I grab his food from the fridge and the cupboards and throw them plus an icepack in his lunch box. I eat my breakfast and then we head out. This all usually takes about an hour.

This thread is making me feel like a huge slacker. We hardly do anything.

Night before: dump out her wet bag of cloth diapers from that day, spray the poopy ones, put them all in her diaper pail

Morning of: change her diaper, pick out clothes, put on clothes, put on her shoes, grab some fresh cloth diapers and the wet bag, toss baby + bag into the stroller and at 6:50am DH heads out the door to walk her to daycare. Then I start getting myself ready.

Daycare provides all her food, and we don't do breakfast at home since she arrives at daycare by like 7:05am. So not a lot of prep at home is needed.

After bed I get the daycare bag ready: bottles, spare clothes, and and diapers/wipes/bibs needed. I shower and get my lunch, laptop, and pump bags ready.

In the morning we walk tgr dog, eat breakfast, and DS plays as I get ready. I nurse him, we take the dog for one last potty and head to daycare. Then I head to the bus stop.

630 wake up, diaper change, nurse, throw on clothes
650 walk dog
740 play on the play mat/mom gets ready
8 nurse
810 get dressed

@T.H.O.U.: She has been sleeping until 8 or later this summer  We are working on moving bedtime up so she will wake up earlier but we will definitely still have to wake her on school days. Hoping we can get her up and dressed in her room and she can just eat breakfast in the car so she can get as much sleep as possible.

@looch: Great idea!

What time does she wake up normally? My kids get up at 6:45 and pretty much go straight to the table for breakfast and some tv. As they start to wake up, I either get them dressed at the table or in their rooms. We then do hair and teeth and potty. If they still have breakfast left they finish while I load up the car or they bring it in the car with them.

Do you have space in a closet to do a hanging cube thing? I have one in my son's closet with 6 cubbies and I put whole outfits in there on the weekend for the week ahead. I don't care what he wears on what day, but it cuts down on the panic of not having enough of an item on a given day.

Night before: Pack lunch (breakfast and snack too), place in lunchbox, lunch box in fridge. Pack backpack. Any papers that need to go to daycare go in a plastic folder in her backpack. Clothes and shoes laid out.

Morning: eat breakfast in pajamas, I do her hair while she eats. Then we get her dressed and she plays until I am ready to go. DH moves backpack and lunchbox to my car.

Mornings after I don't do all my nightly routine
...I am generally grumpy :silly:

LO has been staying home with me for a year and I am rusty on the getting ready for school routine! She is going to preschool part-time next month and I am nervous about getting her ready to leave for school by 7:20 on school days. I know I need to do as much as possible the night before and I am thinking she may eat breakfast in the car on school days!

What's your night before and morning routine?
