@winniebee: I have no idea! The only thing I can think of is that she moved from waking up at 4 to waking up at 1, drinking 4 oz, and then going back to sleep. So maybe the full tummy helped her to sleep longer?

@littlek: I used to write out a detailed sheet for my daycare too. I updated it as she got older. It was also nice for when they had subs in the room to know her routine. She also won't show signs for tiredness and then will get overtired!

Around 8am, it's usually a 45 minute nap and then by 12:30 she takes her super nap, which is about 2.5 hours. She's 7 months.

@BabyBoecksMom: 4, ugh! When did she stop waking so early? Our daycare is on the same street, so, not enough time for him to fall asleep.

@littlek: Progress!

@winniebee: No kidding. I wrote out a detailed schedule for them and today he has gone down for 2 naps so far. Amazing what being annoying will do.

That's a long awake time, I bet if he went down sooner he'd have a better 1st nap.

@winniebee: DD used to wake up at 4 (ugh) and would have a power nap on the way to daycare, which is 25 min away. That would last her until they put her down for a nap at 9.

At home, he usually goes down 2.5 hours after his first wake and then nap 2 is 3 hours after he wakes up from nap 1.

@littlek: Yeah, I have been putting off talking to them, since he seems to be in a pretty good routine there otherwise. Wow, 11 a.m.? What ever happened to a morning nap!

LO wakes up at 6 for daycare and his first nap is at 9 a.m.

Can you talk to the daycare? We had a discussion about B's naps on friday and realized they weren't putting him down for a nap until 11 a.m., that means that he was awake for 5 hours. No wonder he didn't want to go down for a nap!! When I talked to his teacher, I told her that he really should be awake for 2 hours inbetween naps and she looked shocked. I'm kinda surprised she didn't know that. Maybe they know why I'm freaking out about LO not napping at all.

P (almost 9 months) takes her first nap 2.5-3 hours after waking regardless of the time. We follow that all day as well.... her wake-time is usually 2.5 hours before her first nap & then 3 the rest of the day.

At 8 months I think her wake times were 2-2.5 hours long.

When my son took 2 naps a day between 12 and 18 months his first nap was usually starting some time between 7:30 and 8am. He also gets up between 5 and 5:30am each day.

She naps between 8 and 9 when she wakes that early. She has been spacing out her naps now and sometimes takes longer ones. She's 7 months.

...who am I kidding, she always wakes that early....

We had an early riser and she would nap around 9-10am. By the time she was a year old she didn't nap until after lunch so around 11:30-12. Sometimes daycare had a hard time keeping her up through lunch but she's used to it now.

My son (almost 8 months) is an early riser. When he goes without a night waking, he's up at 5 or 5:30 for the day. Having a hard time figuring out best nap time. At daycare they don't nap him until 9 and that's a really long awake time and it usually results in a crappy nap.

When does your early riser take their first nap?
