I also had a March baby, in SoCal, so mild weather. She basically lived in long-sleeved footed sleepers for the first couple of months. Even when we went out and it was warm, she usually still had long sleeves or a lightweight cardigan on.

Thanks for the input! We do have a good amount of long sleeve sleepers already because that's what everyone suggested we get. The bin I went through today from my friend had a lot of onesies so I took a good mix of long sleeve and short sleeve. If he comes right on time he will probably be wearing a good mix of long sleeve and short sleeve onesies as the weather warms up in May.

@cmomma17: I am really hoping he comes that day...I think St. Patrick's Day would be a fun birthday to have!

I had an April 18th baby in Virginia, and we had him in long sleeves for quite a while. There were some chilly spring days, plus the A/C blasting on warmer days. Teeny babies need to be kept pretty warm :)

And march 17th is MY birthday! congrats!

I was due March 28, she was born April 3rd. She wore quite a lot of sleepers and long sleeve onesie/pants sets for the first couple months. I agree with having a couple sweaters or jackets on hand, we did that a lot.

I had a late winter baby, but live in a warmer climate and she didn't move into 0-3 mo clothes until about 8 weeks... I liked having long-sleeved sleepers (maybe at least 5-6) and long-sleeved onesies. I found that I got the most mileage out of short-sleeved "outfits" (dresses or tops) that I could layer a long-sleeved onesie under for warmth... and then use on its own once the weather was warmer.

We had our daughter on April 21st and we are in a cool climate in Canada. We used a lot of long sleeve sleepers in the beginning! We didn't have any long sleeve onesies, but I put a sweater over short sleeve. I'd say maybe 6-10 would be good. You'll be doing laundry a lot anyway ;)

I am due March 17th and live in the Midwest. A friend is finished having kids and has offered a lot of clothes to us. I'm currently looking through the clothes and there are quite a few long sleeve 0-3 items. If you had an early spring baby in a typically cooler climate did they wear a lot of long sleeve items? Should we plan on LO wearing long sleeve items longer than we would since he will be so little? I'm just not sure how to dress him!

I would love to be prepared with all the clothes offered, but don't want to take advantage of her offer because she will probably consign things I don't take.
