Morning 2 and she was up at 5:55. We got her out of bed at 6:05!! Her teething symptoms have died down too so that might be helping. But she rarely ever slept till 6 before so I'm counting it as a win!

@NovBaby1112: She goes to bed 630-700. Just depends on how tired she is. She gets 3 naps. During week she usually only take 3 30 min naps. She just doesn't nap well at day care. At home on the weekends, she will take 2 or 3 naps, anywhere 45mins to 2.5 hours. She is all over the place.
This morning she woke at 445, talked to herself, went back asleep, up at 515, back asleep, then up at 530. She lays there talking to herself, not really moving. Then she started hysterically crying at 5:55, so DH went to get her.
When she was sleeping till 6 or 630, she would wake up and stand in her crib every morning, ready to play. Now she is just fussy. She doesn't eat till 615/630.

@NovBaby1112: Why won't this work for my LO? We don't get her till 6. Sometimes it is 545 if she starts hysterically crying, but she still isn't getting the message.

@tinyperson: Honestly, I wouldn't go in at all unless she was hysterical. I know for my LO, when she see's me and then I leave, it makes it 100 times worse. It might be rough the first few mornings, as in, she might just fuss/cry on and off until you get her at 6am or whatever time you decide, but after a few days she should start to realize that you are not going to get her at 4 or 5 am, and hopefully she will start sleeping in a little bit! It would drive me crazy if we had our monitor all the way up as well! We keep it on a very low setting- we can still hear her but it's not blasting in my ear. Also, my LO did the same thing- standing up/ walking around crib/etc. Eventually she just laid back down and went to sleep. We give her a big bottle before bed and I make sure she eats/drinks plenty during the day, so I know she should be able to go 11-12 hrs without eating at this age.

I know @hilsy recently had lots of luck with getting rid of the early wakings. Maybe she will chime in as well...

We did the same as Novbaby1112.

My daughter is 15 months and had been waking up as early as 4:30/5. We finally decided that we would stop getting her because it seemed like we were making it worse / making her think it was okay to wake up at that time by starting our day then.

So we set a time (6am) and don't get her until then. After a few rough mornings of letting her cry (never crazy frantic but standing, yes), she now still wakes up around 4-4:30 but only whimpers for a few minutes before falling back asleep until 6:30 or 7! I also turn the sound off on the monitor in the morning so I don't just stay awake listening to it. This past week I've actually had to wake her up every morning. Which I'm sure I totally just jinxed us by writing it down :-)

Good luck!

@Novbaby1112: Hmmm...maybe we should give that a try. I'll have to convince DH to let me turn the monitor down. He wants the volume up as high as possible, which drives me nuts, and puts me on edge every time it comes on

Would you go in at all? She tends to stand in her crib and won't sit down/lay down.

Thanks for the advice! She has been teething this week, so that might be part of it too.

Hmmm... Well we experienced this early wake up phase a few times, not quite as early as you though! We tried the same things, early bedtime, later bedtime, less day sleep, more day sleep, etc. What ultimately ended up working was picking a time we didn't wAnt her to get up until, and just not getting her until then. For us, it was 6 am. It took few days but eventually she started sleeping in little by little. My LO was never full on crying/hysterical though, so I felt fine letting her fuss a bit. She's 13 months and is now sleeping until 6:30ish, but over a month ago it was more like 5/5:30. I read that if you do not want them to wake up before a certain time, do not feed them before that time- obviously this applies to older babies, not younger ones.

No advice but my 9 month old waking up earlier ever since the time change. She is still tired but can't get herself back to sleep. So frustrating

Happy and ready to play, but she's a very happy baby, and doesn't fuss a whole lot generally, even when she's tired. She's rubbing her eyes a lot not long after getting up, but won't go down for a nap till much later.

My 12 month old has always been an early riser (5:30-5:45). We were managing with those times. Lately, however, it's been creeping earlier and earlier. Saturday was 4:15, Sunday was 5, today was 5...I already go to bed early (9:30), and struggle to get dinner, dishes and whatever else needs to be done between 7 (LOs bedtime) and my bedtime. We've tried putting her to bed later and earlier, making sure she's up by 4pm from her nap, rocking her when she wakes up, nursing her when she wakes up, bringing her to bed with us (apparently that means playtime).

Anything else I can try? She takes either two 1-1.5 hr naps or one 2-3 hr nap a day.
