@Meridian: I usually try to put him back to sleep. It only works like 5% of the time :/ I don't fight it too much because half the time even if he does finally fall back asleep I'll have to wake him in 20 minutes to get ready for the sitter anyway. It sucks. sucks. sucks.

@erind425: Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssss! He has so many sleep issues..this isn't the only thing. I can't wait to torture him as a teen ;)

@Littlebit: it's the pits. I'm hoping it passes soon and, in the meantime, looking forward to gleefully waking him up early as payback in 13 years.

I feel ya. My LO used to wake up at 6:30-6:45. For the past few days it's been 6. I hope it doesn't get earlier. She is 5.5 months. I tried putting her to breed later, and that didn't change anything.

My LO has always been an early riser and just won't sleep more than 10ish hours if she STTN. For the past 8 months or so, we were putting her down at 7 pm, and she would wake up at 5 pm (sometimes 4:45!, sometimes 5:15) for the day.

With the time change, I started putting her down at 8 and now she's sleeping till 6, so I'm keeping the later bed time.

I was going to post something similar today!!

My LO (21 weeks) has been waking around 4:30 or 5AM for the past 2 weeks or so, and doesn't settle back to sleep for over an hour! He'll fuss -> cry -> CRYYY -> fuss -> sleep -> fuss ... and so on and I have to keep going in every 15 mins to give him his paci and try to soothe him without picking him up (trying to break this habit, so don't want to pick him up and reinforce this early wake up)

The earliest I will get him up is 7AM, but usually closer to 7:30 or 8AM, so this is sucky. :crying:

@Littlebit: what do you do when he wakes this early? Just start your day?

@Littlebit: No suggestions, but we are in the exact same boat with our 6 month old DS, down to the same bedtime. I was hoping the time change would help, but no such luck. Raising my diet coke to you in commiseration! Thank god for caffeine.

In the past 2 or 3 weeks my 6 month old has started waking up anywhere between 5:15-5:45am. His normal wake up time is 6:15 (which is early enough as it is!) because that's when we have to get him ready for the babysitters...him waking up early is brutal. It cuts an hour off my already little sleep time.

We haven't changed anything in his schedule. We start our bedtime routine around 6:30, he's usually out by 7 or 7:15 at the latest...any suggestions? Is this just normal for his age and he'll eventually stop or is there something we should be doing?
