I'm just echoing what other people have already said, but I think you need to move the afternoon nap earlier (because you want to get it closer to 12:30 or 1) and so shorten the morning nap. I also think the early wake-ups are kind of a phase, my son went through the 5am thing too around the same time.

We're also on the 2-3-4 schedule at 13 months, although most days it's more like 2.5-3.5-3.5 or something like that. When DS was doing the early wakeups our schedule was something like this:
5:30 - wakeup
8:30-10 - first nap
1-2:15 - second nap
6:30-6:45 - bedtime

He dropped the third nap pretty late as a result of the early wakeups, so we will likely be on the 2-nap/2-3-4 schedule for a while longer. He has never done super long naps so we just rolled with an early bedtime while he was doing the early wakeups. Just now in the past few weeks he's been reliably going to bed a little later (7pm) and waking up later too (6:45).

@MrsSRS: we let her CIO for up to 15 minutes if she wakes up at night. when she wakes up in the mornings, it's so close to the time when she'd need to wake up anyway that we end up just getting her up.

Thank you to everyone, I think we will try phasing out the morning nap/cutting it short so that she can take a longer afternoon nap. It really helps to read that others have had the same issue!

We were going through something similar and we drastically cut his morning nap. My son wakes earlier when his daytime sleep is wonky so we played around with the morning nap since that's the one that drops eventually when you move to a 1 nap schedule. At first we cut the morning nap to 1 hour but that only worked about half the time and the PM nap was sti short. Now we wake him after he's slept 30-40 minutes (I watch him on his monitor until he's asleep and start the clock from there). I hate waking a dead asleep baby but it's enough to take the edge off and he's tired when I put him down around 1:30pm and then I let him sleep as long as he wants. That seems to have fixed his morning waking and he's back to 730pm-730am.

How do you handle night wakings if they happen? Have you tried treating the morning wake like that?

At that age LO was attempting to move to 1 nap. He did exactly what your LO is doing. I let him crash in the morning, but only for 1 hour max. And then 4 hours layer he went down for a nap, and then there was a nice window until bedtime. So our schedule looked like:

7 am wakeup
8 am nap
1-3 nap
7 pm bedtime

It was such a short, weird time period and then he was able to stay awake longer in the mornings and started napping at 11 am, so we did bedtime of 6pm.

The 2-3-4 schedule still works for us at 13.5mo, though it's now more like 2.5-3.5-3.5.

My LO is 14 months old. She's sleeping through the night, but wakes up at around 5/5:15 and pretty much moans intermittently (varying volume levels) until we pick her up. We've been trying to wait til 6am to get her.

She's ready to crash by 9 or 9:30am, and will sleep for 2.5 or 3 hours. Then she'll need another nap at around 4pm and she sleeps anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

Bedtime is 7 or 7:30 and she goes to sleep really easily (even if she's only been up for 2 hours or so).

Does anyone have any experience dealing with early wakeups and/or fixing a nap schedule like this? I'd love for her to sleep until 6:45. I'd be fine with one nap or two naps--right now it seems like she'll never be able to stay up long enough in the morning to take one nap!
