My son woke up at 5 or 530 on the button from 5 months until 12/13 months. Even if we put him down later his natural clock was set to that time. It was brutal. Around 13 months we switched bedtime to 8 and he eventually started sleeping til 6, then 630. Now he sleeps til 630 or 7 pretty consistently (he's 17 months). We just had to wait it out and on weekends would take turns sleeping in.

For us it was a phase...he was waking around 5:30. It was awful! I would try not to get him out of his crib til 6, unless he was really crying hard. EVentually it passed, but even now at almost 1, he has days where he'll wake up at 6 a few days in a row, and then go back to his normal 630/645.

DS totally did this for awhile, I don't think it ever got earlier than 5:30 or so. Nothing I did would change it, but he did grow out of it. Now he sleeps until 7 to 7:30 (GLORIOUS!!), but not because I did anything.
Good luck!

We went through this around months 10-13. Now at almost 14 months she has pushed it back to 5:30 so a bit better but still not great. No real advice in how we did it nothing's really changed (except maybe a little later bed 7:30 versus 7). Honestly I think it's only time... Maybe? I'll let you know when we're over this early phase lol

Glad to hear some babies outgrow this stage. I've been getting a little scared he would always be getting up at 4:30!

We had this phase and we just waited it out so no real advice. I think they do outgrow it, though.

@LittleFox: my lo went through a phase like this a few times! It was killer!!! Nothing we did worked. We just took turns getting up with her. The worst part is she would want a nap by 7 and we were up for the day. :(

Lately, for about the past month, LO is 9 months old and has been waking insanely early. He goes to bed around 7:30pm each night, but has been waking consistently between 4:30am and 5:30am (that's sleeping in for us). It's crazy! The sun is not even up yet! I've tried changing his bedtime in case it was too early, but then he just wakes that early and is grumpy because he got less sleep.

Help! What are your tips for early risers? If I could just get him to stay asleep until 6 or 6:30, I would be SO happy!
