@My Only Sunshine: So I have been making popsicles lately with banana, kale, almond milk, peanut butter and a teeny bit of cocoa powder. It seems to help move things along so maybe giving him something like that after dinner would help get it out before bed. Or a maybe bit of prune juice with dinner?

@MrsSRS: yes this. And can give poop-inducing foods during the day to help that process.

Sometimes you can change it! Try sending your LO to the potty 20 to 30 minutes after every meal with a cheerful prompt of "it's pooping time!" and have them sit for a few minutes. It sounds dumb but it works surprisingly often. If they can start pooping several times a day the early morning/middle night one should stop.

My youngest does this often and is up for the day at 5. Sigh.

I try to push a lot of food at dinner time and milk and aim for an hour buffer before bedtime in the hopes that a poo will occur before bedtime. I throw snacks at them after dinner usually too, their after dinner treat. It doesn’t change the early wake up for my kid, but it does change if I have to go into the bedroom earlier or not.

I wish there was a secret formula. My son usually goes at 7:25ish when we are supposed to leave the house to go to camp/school. It's not as early as 4:30am but it's bad timing... but I prefer he goes at home than in a public place. i don't think there's anything we can do...

Our 3 year old wakes up like clockwork at 4:30 am to poop. He is daytime potty trained but wears a diaper at night. This is getting so old! I thought he would stop on his own but we’re at 2 months of EVERY SINGLE DAY. He actually does go so I feel like I can’t just send him back to bed. Him being up wakes up our 2 other kids and sometimes someone ends up being awake for the day.

Is there some sort of trick to change a kid’s pooping schedule?? I am going crazy!
