I found a blogger (I think it was fitnessista or something like that?) who outlined how to make a bunch of baby food in an hour for less than $20. If you google or look on Pinterest I am sure you could find it. Anyway it was a great starting off point for some yummy combinations that my LO loved, plus the way she listed it all out it was so easy!

Pears (I don't peel since its organic, just chop, simmer in water til soft, blend)
Prunes (soak dried prunes in hot water, then blend)
Spinach (steam then blend. I like to mix with peas)
I have also purchased canned organic pumpkin and butternut squash puree (in baking section) and frozen in ice cube trays fro later use.

@Grace: my LO loves hummus, so I should try just doing the chickpeas

If i wanted to make something quick and easy i used frozen veggies. DS loved corn and green bean purees. Frozen berries like a mix of blueberries and cranberries were always a hit. Also those refrigerator packs of pre cooked beets were easy to puree. Ds also tolerated mushy red lentils. You have to cook but not really puree them.

Chickpeas? Use canned stuff, rinse it off and just whir them in the food processor. Probably have to add a bit of water to thin it out.

When we were still incorporating purees, LO really loved this combo:

Tofu
Fresh Broccoli (you can zap it in the microwave a bit, if you want to avoid steaming)
A dollop of apricot or peach preserves

This was one of the easiest purees to prepare, and really just involved our food processor.

I have made large batches of sweet potato & peas & frozen them, and we feed LO fresh fruit like bananas, cantaloupe, avocado, etc. Other foods we use organic jars. My freezer stash is dwindling though so I'd like to make some more, but a lot of things sound like too much work. I don't want to do a lot of peeling/chopping/steaming/etc. What did you find the simplest to make?
