Yep, we eased into it with both kids. We started with a few hours twice a week, then two half days, then two full days. After that, DD, started going full-time. Now the kids only go two days a week, since I'm a SAHM, so DS never transitioned to full-time.

The week before I had to go back to work I would leave my son for an hour or two so they could get used to him and see how bottles went, etc and I could ease into it. Then we went full time.

our daycare is half days the first week. charlie cried at drop off every day, but stopped within 10 minutes of us leaving. the second week he sat in his stroller watching the other kids play. he was really interested and wanted to join, but was tentative. by the third week he was happy and saying bye to us.

you forget it was so hard in the beginning because they eventually love daycare so much!

I took her in for a few visits beforehand but then we went gung-ho full days. I had to pick her up early the first two days because she was unhappy but she was fine by the third day. R will have fun playing with all the other kids, don't worry!

We did a part day the first day and then full time after that. It was tough but good for her. I think it helped to kinda just jump into it so she didn't have to transition over a long period of time.

So, next week (already!) LO is starting daycare. She's going in for just two days next week, then three days the following week, then full-time the week after that.

On her very first day, my plan was to take her in after she's had her first nap (when she's at her happiest) and leave her there for a few hours. I know she will have a screaming and crying fit and I'm just worried.

Did you ease into daycare? A few hours to begin? Or, did you dive in and start with a full day?
