@mrs.shinerbock: Thank you for reaching out!

What you've said confirms my research and conclusions. The few activities I have found are all during the day, as most women are stay-at-home moms in my demographic -However, I will be returning to work at 10 weeks full-time as well.

We don't currently attend church, and being a lapsed Boston Catholic I'm not sure how (or if I even want to!) explore all these different religions down here. However it may be the only way for us to expand into our community.

Thank you to the Dallas and Houston Bee's for reaching out and offering support!

@jennlin821: I don't live there now, but I was raised in East Texas and I actually have a college friend who lives in Tyler. She said that she is not very active with any mom groups because most of the activities she knows about are geared toward SAHMs and she works full time. A couple things she suggested though:
There is a FB group called Tyler Nursing Moms and there is a La Leche League group - these might be good for when you are on maternity leave. Grace Community Church has an active mom's group that one of her friends is in - you might check with your church if you are a church goer.

@jennlin821: yes there a bunch of us in Houston, but not sure how close that is.

Sorry this is a rough time for you. The bee community is definitely here if you need us.

Have you tried a baby music class or baby/mommy me Class. Even being pregnant you could go and check it out to see if there are any cool moms.

@jennlin821: I'd also ask your OB about daycare if you want to go that path. I guess it depends on your OB though. My OB was about my same age but her kiddos are about 5 years ahead of mine. She was invaluable to me for advice on so many things.

@ Mamag - I'm not sure why it didn't occur to me to ask my OB! I'll do that.
And yes, I'm going back to work - not sure if we are going to look for a nanny or daycare. Part of the problem with not knowing anyone is that I can't get any personal recommendations about childcare!

Thanks for the response, its good to not feel alone :)

I'm not in Tyler (though I've been through there plenty of time). I'm in North Texas (DFW), and just wanted to say Hey!

Have you asked your OB or hospital about local mom groups? They might have some resources. Will you return to work? Will your kiddo head to daycare? Daycare is a way to meet some more Moms too. Though I realize that is at least several months away for you.

Hello Everyone!
I've been following Hellobee during my pregnancy and have responded to a few posts, but this is my first time writing one!

Anyways, my husband and I moved to Tyler, Texas (East Texas) 2 years ago from New England. Now I'm 8 months pregnant with my first, and have no support system here. We both work full time, but have not made friends!

I'm hoping to connect with a local moms group or just some other local moms! I've searched the internet and Facebook, and I can't find anything.

I'm an introvert, so making friends and putting myself out there can be very challenging.

So is there anyone out there in the Hellobee world that is in the Tyler, TX area?
