My son likes to get art supplies, so in the past I have done things like the crayola spirograph, marker airbrush machine, spin art, cling makers, etc.

I've also done a bike helmet, knee pads and sports equipment.
This year, I will probably do a lego basket, with some base plates that look like roads, magnets that look like chewing gum and some markers. None of it goes together, lol.

eta: I just ordered Ticket to Ride Junior and an expansion pack of my son's birth country to put in the "basket." I decided to skip the magnets but did get the lego baseplates. That's more than enough. I'd rather do a few bigger things than a ton of little stuff.

Lo is almost 6 and we are giving her bath bombs and 2 new books in her basket. She also gets baskets from my mom, my MIL and my aunt and they give her toys, stuffed animals and way too much candy.

Your kids are probably too old for this but for others with kids learning to read, this game is a blast! It's a sight word Jenga. They have three different levels for sight words.

New bathing suit, legos, sidewalk chalk, new art supplies, a wooden birdhouse from a craft store to paint. I find that craft stores are amazing with the things you can put together for kiddos.

For my 6 year old I am doing some Star Wars Lego figures and maybe a small set (one of the $10 ones) and a set of blank books where he can create his own stories. I might throw some new swim goggles in there too.

He is a sugar monster so I am going to stick to just one candy item.

My LO is only 15 mo, so don't have this experience yet. But growing up my grandparents always gave us a Disney movie in their basket. I remember it being so special, cuz they had those big VHS cases and Disney movies were expensive!

I'd like to continue along with something similar when DD is old enough, but I feel like buying physical movies isn't a great investment!
Not sure if this helped at all, but maybe it will spur you on to something :)

For our older kids what are you putting in the baskets? I usually give way too much candy - want to do more non food/candy items this year.
