@Tanjowen: It varies, but I find that the boxed Aunt Jemima brand mix holds together much better than any I make from scratch when freezing and re-thawing. They don't come out mushy or deflated after microwaving! I sometimes add a little vanilla extract or cinnamon for added yumminess.

I also like to slice bananas and dip them in the batter, and then cook like usual. E loves these, but they can be messy when microwaved after being frozen so not the best thing for on the go.

@Foodnerd81: Ha, that's certainly true! My dog is a pretty efficient pea picker upper. But at least they don't stain clothes like blackberries, which is what my LOs would really like to beating all the time!

I heat up frozen peas to room temp in the microwave and my kids eat them like they're candy. They're relatively mess free and obviously pretty healthy. It makes me feel less guilty about all the goldfish they also eat. 😃

@Rocker2014: I do this for breakfast! She eats them every day she doesn't have breakfast at daycare, never thought about them for snacks. I make them with leftover baby oatmeal cereal (bought too many and barely fed her any as just oatmeal!), bananas and some of my freezer stash that's a little too old for bottles.

LO eats a lot of pancakes, she loves them! I make a big batch and freeze them, 30 seconds in the microwave and you're all set. Since they are flat, I just throw them in a sandwich bag and don't have to worry about them getting squashed in the diaper bag. Once she figures out what syrup is I'm screwed, though.

@Mae: chedder bunnies! good idea, that seems like a less guilt version of gold fish.
@MrsSRS: luckily between LO still nursing a lot and her love for fruit, she can eat a whole banana and cheese stick in a day and it just gives her normal poops! which makes this CD mama happy, haha. I'll have to watch out when she's less of a boobaholic I think. Though I also have to bribe her with raisins to change her diaper so that helps too as she gets a regular ration.
@Tanjowen: I did buy her organic Os the other day (Kashi I think) though I realized they're not iron fortified like regular cheerios, which is a bummer. So I think I'm mixing them half/half to even it out ;) PB to go is brilliant!

We buy the Toasted O's in the organic section, which are basically sugar free Cheerios. Makes me feel better since he eats so many :silly:

- Cheddar Bunnies
- Bananas
- Applesauce (I keep a spoon in the diaper bag)

So I know she's a bit old for them but I still feed my lo melts every day at 17 mo! She loves them and they are decently healthy and they are easy. Otherwise we do pouches, yogurt squeezers, cheese sticks, Annie's cheddar bunnies, oyster crackers, inner peas (trader joes), Apple sticks (trader joes) or fruit

We do Cheerios and raisins a lot, in the snack catcher. I read somewhere it's good to pair raisins with something crunchy so they don't stick in their teeth.

Cheese sticks
Goldfish or cheddar bunnies
Apple slices
Fruit bars (like nutrigrain, or these organic fig bars from Costco that are less messy)
Bananas
Other fruit but it's more prep (slicing all the grapes, peeling oranges)

LO is almost 13 mo and I need snack ideas! I'm looking for things that take no prep (my pinterest motivations/time are few and far between) and are decently healthy. LO is very fickle about whether she'll eat a pouch or not so that doesn't even always work well. These are our main go-tos:
- cheerios (I'm seriously embarrassed about how many she eats on a daily basis, tell me I'm not the only one!)
- raisins
- cheese sticks
