I do pig tails or ponytail. Her hair is thin, so braids are actually harder since it is work to get them to look ok. She always comes home a hot mess though.

I do French braids or high pigtails, both with a little bow or extra ponytail in the front to hold back DD's side bangs. She has super fine hair and it absolutely will not stay in a ponytail.

I recently got my sister to teach me to French braid and it is a million times easier than I thought it would be.

Topsy tails work great too

I have to do a small pony tail at the top and then connect it to a lower pony tail. It keeps all the fly aways out of her face. Sometimes I do more a half up, half down and just let the back flow.

Ponytails always end up being messiest for us too. Mine has fine hair and it stays better if it's in a bun, half ponytail, or pigtails.

Last year, most school days I just threw LO's hair up in a ponytail. By the end of the school day it was a hot mess. I want to come up with some new hairstyles that keep her hair out of her face, that are easy, and stay put.
