Thanks @looch I'll look at those!
Same here @mamaof2.
@tinyperson - you may have just saved us from purchasing a new car seat!
@T.H.O.U. - Yes, exact same boat. I have a skinny 5 year old too - and I'd rather keep him harnessed. The day he was able to buckle himself in was a great day! I just fix his straps a bit.

@theknest: I'm in the same boat with #3 coming. She does really well getting buckled and then I just make sure she's tight. If its between switching her to a belt and keeping her harnessed, I would rather keep her harnessed and teacher her how to unbuckle it!

These buckle boppers come up on CSTFL all the time, and they're allowed:

http://www.amazon.com/Buckle-Bopper-Seat-Belt-Aid/dp/B00A4PL7VM

Maybe that's a solution?

We have both the Britax Frontier and the Graco Nautilus. My son is almost 5.5 years old and can unbuckle both the crotch strap and the chest harness without a problem.

I'm looking for a five point harness booster car seat that is a little easier for a 5 year old to get himself out of. He can never push the red button. I know they don't recommend these - so their hard to find but....

I'm pregnant with my 3rd. We'll have to move my 5 year old to the third row of our Suburban when the baby comes - and I don't want to have to crawl back to the third row to unbuckle him every time. I know that's a little lazy on my part but 3 kids....I'll always help him buckle to make sure it's done properly but it would be so nice if he could unbuckle himself. Does anyone have any experience with a booster that is easier for kids to get out of?

Also important to note - my oldest is extremely well behaved and understands the dangers of traveling in a vehicle and not being buckled - so this is something we don't have to worry about (now my second child is a different story!). Thanks for the help!
