@Tanjowen: a lot of times I cut fruit and veggies on Sundays but sometimes I just do one or two things at a time on other days. If all else fails, bananas & clementines are good because you don't have to wash! ;)

I cut up vegetables on Sunday, I do cucumbers, bell peppers, carrots and grape tomatoes...they go in trays and right into the fridge for our lunches. If you have a costco, they make an edamame hummus, that's just as good as plain hummus and about 3 grams of fat per serving. I've toyed with making my own, but laziness took over there.

I tend to do whole fruit, rather than cut, because the process of eating whole fruit takes me longer and I don't overeat on fruit, which I adore.

I stay away from nuts and cheese for snacks, it is a challenge for me to eat a small portion and I end up eating other things to satisfy me.

@jhd: I picked up some hummus and Kashi crackers last night and Greek yogurt.

@lady grey and @blackbird: : I like the roll-up and boiled eggs ideas!

I think pre-planning is key for me, and I suck at it. I picked up the mini portions of peanut butter to take to work to eat with apple slices and I need to pick a day and cut up fruit and veggies for snacks.

Nuts, yogurt, baby carrots+hummus, diced fruit, or a small portion of regular leftover food. Or half a sandwich. Oh and boiled eggs! I eat those often.

Apples slices & almond butter is my go to. Before I went paleo I did lots of yogurt and baby carrots with hummus. How about cheese and deli ham roll ups?

Here are some things I try to keep around to snack on.

String cheese
Greek yogurt
Fiber one granola bars
Peanut butter filled pretzels
Veggies and hummus
Fruit
Nuts or trail mix

I try to have things ready to grab so I wash/cut fruits and veggies and put in ziploc bags and use a kitchen scale to weigh portions of nuts, etc. and put in ziploc bags also & store in a basket in the pantry.

I need some ideas of easy foods to keep around the house to grab to snack on. It seeems like I should be able to come up with ideas but my brain isn't playing nice tonight. I usually will do a banana with peanut butter but mostly find myself digging into cheesy crackers.
