We have a chicco my fit and love it, but my daughter can't unbuckle the crotch strap. i just ordered her one of the things on amazon for unbuckling (we are hoping to be able to move her to the third row soon)- will try to remember to let you know how it goes.

@PinkElephant: @HappyBaker: I would definitely stick with the buckle bopper over the bucklebee, nothing should be on the crotch strap as it can interfere with how it sits on a child.

We have the Tranzitions and it is super hard to buckle and unbuckle, even for me. I need two hands to unbuckle it and even then it sometimes takes a few tries. And when we buckle it, it sometimes seems like it is clicked but it's not, it's sort of a pain!!

My 6 year old CAN unbuckle her Diono Radian, but you definitely don't need a convertible car seat since she will only be in the harnessed booster for a short time. I'd look into the buckle helpers too - here's a link to one I was looking at a while back!

@Foodnerd81: Yeah, her fine motor strength isn't great, so I am not sure a different carseat will really help, but figure it's worth a try since I need SOME kind of seat to move DD3 out of her infant seat. I think for some kids the unbuckling just comes later...a lot of friends have moved to using the seatbelt to avoid the issue, but I don't think I"m OK with that yet.

@catgirl: Thanks! I need to get another carseat anyway (DD3 is two years old next week and still in a bucket seat - she is well within the size limitations, but it's a bit of a PITA for her to get in and out), so will need SOMETHING - but these Buckle Boppers look like a good idea no matter what.@

You could also look at getting a buckle bopper for her to use - it would help with any seat.

I don’t have a recommendation, but I can say that my 5 year old canNOT unbuckle the crotch buckle on her britax frontier. My friend’s 5 year old can in the same seat but that seems to be an exception.

I need to move my 45 inch, 38 lb six-year-old from her convertible carseat to a harnessed booster. She currently CANNOT unbuckle the crotch of her own carseat (Maxi Cosi Pria), and I'd like this to change in her new seat. I plan to use the harness until she hits at least 40 lbs, but probably 45.

Do you have a harnessed booster that your child finds easy to unbuckle?

I'm specifically looking at Graco Tranzitions, but open to other models, and she'll be sitting in the back row of a Honda Oddessey.

Thanks!!
