*raises hand* - I eat every hour on the hour pretty much. It's been like that almost throughout the entire pregnancy (at 33 weeks now). To offset it, I also try to sneak in two 10 minute walks during the day and 45-60 minutes at the gym. Of course, my work walks are getting slower because I waddle and I have to pee all the time :-)
I figure, if I'm hungry, it's my body telling me it needs something. And I try to pick healthy options even if I'm not always successful.

I ate pretty much hourly in the first tri because I was STARVING constantly. In the second trimester, it subsided a little, so I could cut out a snack or two a day. Then around 22-29 weeks I was starving again. It subsided a little and at 32 weeks I'm not as hungry as I used to be. But I have terrible self-restraint - I generally eat healthy but give in to treats all the time. I have gained about 20 pounds total.

I wouldn't worry about eating healthy in the first trimester if you have morning sickness. It's all about surviving! Eat what you can. I gave up trying to eat healthy weeks ago. Hopefully in the 2nd trimester, I can start eating better.

In my first trimester I ate almost constantly, in order to keep the nausea down a bit (I have hypermemsis and on top of the meds, keeping my tummy full helped manage the nausea). Since then I have been eating every 2 hours or so, partially due to my GD, but I have gained minimal weight (about 10 pounds total at 35 weeks).

Well I just polished off a cupcake about 20 minutes after eating a taco. I'm starving all day, every day.

Don’t give yourself a hard time about eating habits/snacking in the first trimester – especially if you are dealing with morning sickness!! Just do what you have to do to get through it. And if your snacks are healthy and what your body wants – why break the habit?

FWIW, before I got pregnant I was an all day “grazer” (snacker) and that’s continued throughout pregnancy. I also now eat larger meals, and sometimes double on meals (eat 2 breakfasts or 2 lunches in a day). I also eat dessert almost every night now, whereas before, I didn’t have much of a sweet tooth. I’m almost 31 weeks and have only gained just over 20 pounds in total.

My first trimester I ate every hour too, it was the only way to keep from getting sick and keeping hte nausea to a minimum. It gets better, I eat about every 3 hours now. Keep the "bad" food away and bring in healthy stuff! Nuts helped keep me feeling more full.

I was hungry all the time during my first trimester. And I didn't even have nausea. Now I'm in my second and I'm eating normally again. Just be glad you're keeping everything down. Your body is making the placenta right now so don't worry about being hungry!

do what you need to do - i've been eating terrible and all day long.

i.e., can't digest veggies or fruits, so mainly cereal, carbs, crackers, and fast food. yay me!

I'm still not gaining weight and I'm 15 weeks. in the first tri it's kind of what you need to do to survive! eat what you can and try not to worry to much :)

All you can do is try to eat healthy but listen to your body. As you get further along you will have to eat almost every hour in small amounts!

So pre-pregnancy, I was always a 2.5 meal kind of person. I'd eat something light for bfast (yogurt, fruit, or bagel), eat a soup/sandwich for lunch, and eat a late dinner with dh.

Since even before the BFP, I've been munching on something nearly every hour of my work day so long as it's within my reach. I'm not hungry for it, and the nausea has been kicking in and sometimes eating makes it go away... but seriously -- I feel like I shouldn't be eating it at all.

On top of that, I'm STARVING when I get home and usually have a big dinner with DH after snacking all day!

Thankfully, last week it was mostly fruits. Today, it's been a mix of fruits and easter candy that my boss brought in.

How do I stop this bad habit? I'm only 7 wks in!
