I find it to be such an annoyance--someone then has to sit down with the bill and figure it out, factoring in whether there were appetizers or drinks for the table. To me, if you go out to eat with a group of people, you accept that you will be splittiing the bill, and when you agree to go, you should have full knowledge of how much the restaurant costs, what the entrees are like, etc. Now, if someone decides to order a $200 bottle of wine and you don't have any, that's one thing. But if you partake in appetizers, etc, everything should be splilt. And I find it even more annoying when someone refuses to order anything but the cheapest entree on the menue, and only drinks water, and doesn't have any appetizers/dessert that other people have ordered. It ruins the whole experience for me, personally. I may also be feeling a little sensitive about this because I recently went out with a group of 11 girls for a bachelorette party, and three of the girls made a big fuss about only paying for what they ordered--never mind that they also have some of the apps that I and another girl had ordered, but didn't offer to pay for that, and that the process of telling everyone what to pay took forever and was SO STUPID.
