I leaked all over the bed haha. There was maybe one night that I got up and manually expressed into the sink, but it did regulate itself pretty quickly.

It was a pretty quick adjustment, from what I recall. Both kids started STTN the same night, and I went from a nurse and a pump (nursing one side, pumping the other) to nothing. It suuuuuuuucked, but I just pumped after I nursed in the morning, and it regulated itself pretty quickly.

My baby started sleeping a long stretch at night, and I would pump to empty in the morning which prolonged the pain. I switched to pumping just an ounce or two for relief and to be sure he could latch, and my supply regulated after a week or two.

@Running Elley: I would still pump for 5 minutes right when I woke up to relieve some of the engorgement/pain.. it still adjusted after a few days!

@Running Elley: He was waking up right at 4:50 to eat, and I was leaving at 5 so it worked out. Now I'm back to working out at night and he's sleeping til 6-7-ish. I bet your supply will regulate though, and you can let her sleep!

@autumnlove: I think I'm going to have to pump when I wake up too...I usually wake up quite a bit before her normal wake up time!

@grizz: Were you already doing early morning workouts at the time? I've been waking Emmy up to nurse (even though it's probably considered more of a dreamfeed...) before I go to the gym (usually around 4am) because she was still waking up normally between 4 and 5 anyway. If she keeps up STTN though I'm not sure if I should stop doing that and just let her sleep? I'm hoping my supply will regulate so I'm not engorged when I go work out...or I'll have to pump before I go? Idk!

I pumped twice for a few months after LO started STTN. I gradually went down to one and eventually to 0.

I pump when I wake up at 5:45!

DD is 5.5 months old and EBF. She's been getting close to completely sleeping through the night (no wake ups) for awhile and last night she did it! She slept from 8pm-7:30am.

The sleep was awesome but when I woke up I was in so much pain! I woke up almost an hour before she ended up waking up and finally I used my manual pump and just pumped a little off of each side for comfort. I know that if I keep doing that though my supply won't adjust for STTN, right? Do I just tough it out?
