It does sound like an intolerance. Keep in mind this is not an allergy. It's irritation of the gut from certain proteins, not allergy.

@coacheswife123: To be honest, she never looked like she was uncomfortable or in pain from the dairy. We never even thought anything was wrong until we saw the blood since we read that mucous could just be from all the drooling.

I hope your LO feels better soon!

We saw a clear, phlemy mucus in there too. That's a huge sign.

@coacheswife123: my LO had a lot of mucous in her diapers and then one day had a spot of blood in her diaper. After a day or two of eliminating dairy from my diet, the mucous lessened and then went away entirely after a week or so.

Good luck!

@yin: ok I'm going to stop dairy and see where that gets us. I'm glad it only took your LO a few day to feel better. I've got the guilts now that something I've been eating may be making him feel so rotten. I'm sure it's dairy I eat a lot of it

@coacheswife123: Some like to start with an elimination diet and slowly adding the common allergies back into your diet. Dairy is usually the culprit. I was able to conclude the wheat and dairy on my own due to a pretty quick reaction only a few hours after eating a pasta dish. I decided not to go on the elimination diet. My LO's skin improved a lot within a few days of my diet change.

A little blood in the stool was one our first signs of an allergy. My LO developed eczema around three months old, which was related to his milk, egg, and wheat allergy. He did outgrow the wheat allergy within a year but currently still allergic to milk and eggs at 2 years old.

It can definitely develop over time. It takes awhile for it to actual cause bloody stool. I hope that's not it! Maybe there was done other irritation?

LO is 3 months old and has been having a lot of trouble with gas the pass few days. I just changed his dipe and there was a small bloody spot ? Never seen this before ?

I know the most common is dairy intolerance. Can this develop over time ? Does this sound like an allergy ? If I see it again I'm calling the doc
