i think charlie went 11 days. diluted pear or prune juice should do the trick!

My LO went 14 days, the pedi assured me as long as she was happy, no hard tummy, and her poop wasn't hard she was ok.

My LO also went 10 days once...he was a once a weeker for the most part until we introduced formula and solids. Our pedi said warm baths and gently trying to use a thermometer may help but it's normal as long as LO doesn't have a fever and isn't overly fussy.

I would try home gripe water to get things moving. If that doesn't work, maybe some diluted apple juice.

@Weagle: I've been giving her gas drops, and while they help her release some gas, she still seems uncomfortable & majorly fussy.

@MarieJ: Have you tried any gas drops or gripe water? That might ease the discomfort until she can poop.

@Weagle: she's 9 weeks & the gas is baking her uncomfortable, I believe. At first I was attributing her fussiness to her two month shots, but I really think its because of the gas & the fact that she hasn't pooped in a week. I'm going to call the pedi tomorrow.

How old is she and is the gas making her uncomfortable? Around 3ish months their poop can slow considerably. The longest LO ever went was 13 days I think. Our ped said that as long as she's not fussy, uncomfortable, doesn't have a distended stomach or bloody/white poop, then everything is okay and it's unnecessary to "help" them.

@autumnlove: wow 10 days? I know it's normal for EBF babies to go longer than formula babies but she's so fussy & gassy. I think if she pooped she'd be normal again!

@FutureMrsMcK: I've been taking her temp rectally since Monday when she got her two month vaccinations. Surprisingly, it hasn't stimulated anything.

Mine's never gone longer than 3 days, but his pedi told us we could take his temperature rectally and that would usually stimulate and loosen everything.

My EBF baby didn't go for 10 days and didn't show discomfort until day 9. We took her to the Dr. who told us to give her diluted apple juice a few times a day. We gave LO some and it got her going.... lol!
The Dr. told us it is common for EBF babies to have skip bowel movements!

Should I be concerned? She hasn't pooped since last Thursday & she's gassy, like incredibly gassy! Help! Is that normal?
