@allison: Peppermint oil & lavender oil vapor can help with a cough too. You don't need alot of the peppermint either, just a couple drops. :) Plus lavender is good for relaxing so even when P isn't congested it's just one of our go to things... lavender steam is just nice. *relief* lol

If you don't want to do steam, I also use my scentsy warmer for aromatherapy too.... just fill it with water & put a few drops of your choice of oil (5-10 depending on room size). :)

Oh & you've been making antibodies for him since he was exposed to whatever has him under the weather! :)

@autumnlove: Thanks, me too! :(

@runsyellowlites: Thanks for the suggestions. I actually just ordered stuff to make elderberry syrup, but it won't be here until next week or later. I don't think there's anywhere around here that sells it. I've been eating mangoes for vitamin C and drinking tea with honey. He's not congested, so I'm not sure the Vicks would help? I may pull out the humidifier tonight.

@allison: Anything you take can/will be transferred to baby so you can do things like up your garlic (natural antibiotic), elderberry (great for colds/sickness), & honey (great for allergies) intake & that could help him! There are also lots of tinctures you can look into but I don't know much about them. (I kind of looked into this for treating whooping cough naturally & found I could take lots of things to treat my ebf baby if needed)

I do like sitting in the steam with P with a few drops of peppermint, eucalyptus, & lavender added though (they all have attributes that help colds)... making some homemade vicks pucks for the tub were on my list this year but I never needed them... maybe you could make some?
http://beingfrugalbychoice.blogspot.com/2012/03/homemade-vicks-vapor-shower-disks.html
Or maybe some homemade vicks rub with coconut oil?... even putting some coconut oil in food to help (it's good for colds)?

Hope you both start feeling better soon! :)

My little guy (7 months) has had a (very sporadic) dry, hacking cough for the last few days. He also has a low-grade fever, and his poop is a little different (paler & runnier).

Is there anything that I can eat/drink/take that might help him, via my breastmilk?

Thank you guys! He seems to be feeling okay, actually, but I don't like these symptoms.

Also, I woke up this morning to the lymph nodes in my throat being sore and swollen. I feel fine, otherwise. Could this be a sign that my body is making antibodies for him? Does that sound crazy?!
