I briefly took the mini pill for 1.5 months starting at 6 weeks pp, but with DS's allergies it made him sick so I had to stop it. I like it postpartum because there's no temp charting so I don't have to worry about night wakings or temp variances. We're not sure if we'll have a second baby or not, but even if we do we need to wait 18-24 months to try for a VBAC. </p> <p>Trying to decide between the Mirena, Paraguard or mini-pill. I'm really not keen on hormonal bc, but am also not crazy about the heavier periods that accompany the Paraguard. I also don't trust charting right now on account of EBFing and inconsistent waking times. I don't want to take the chance messing with our breastfeeding situation, since everything is going well. I'm also not keen on going back on hormonal bc until I'm done having children. I was on for a long time before we started TTC and it took us a long time to get pregnant. I know people say it doesn't affect fertility but I don't want to take the chance. This changes my bc plans! I am BF-ing and don't relish the idea of a lot of hormones either. The earliest we'll try to TTC again is when baby Grizz is a year to 18 months old. Possibly 2 years old. What have you tried and liked? </p>
