@tororojo: We still 4 or 5 poops a day as well. The first one in the morning is the worst!

@tororojo: haha, sorry, I didn't mean to share the gruesome details! I'd just rather go back to changing multiple, but lighter, poopy diapers a day than to be hit with a catastrophe out of nowhere every few days!

@Adira: That does sound like a bad horror movie. I guess I should count my blessings!

@hergreenapples: No, haven't had any! But that's good to know.

This is totally random, but did you eat asparagus? DD's poop smells totally different and pretty gross after I eat asparagus (and I've been eating a lot lately since it's in season!).

@tororojo: haha, no, don't be jealous! When he finally does poop, he makes a serious mess! And if he hasn't gone in a few days, I get scared that he'll go during a diaper change or when taking a bath! The other day, I'm changing his wet diaper, just going about my business, when I wipe his butt and all of a sudden it all starts gushing out of him! And it just wouldn't stop! It was horrifying!

@Navy_Mommy: Still stinks! But color and consistency are normal and she's acting normal. My stomach has been fine and she doesn't have a rash.

@Adira: I'm a little jealous of X's poop schedule. L still poops 4-5 times a day! Not quite as much as when she was a newborn, but we sure do change poopy diapers a lot.

I've had that happen too, where Xander's poos sometimes are SUPER smelly! It's hard to figure out what's causing it too because he doesn't poop everyday, haha. It doesn't seem to bother him though and the consistency is right, so I don't worry about it. I just hold my breath!

Is LO fussy or have they gotten a diaper rash? Has your stomach been upset? Is it still rotten smelling?

If it were just one day I would take it as a freak occurrence, but if it's still happening I would investigate further...

I definitely had that happen. It is probably something I ate. The super-smelly ones are few and far between, but when they happen, woo, watch out!

@Navy_Mommy: I can't think of anything weird that I've eaten! But I guess I can try and eat really bland stuff to see if that helps.

Have YOU eaten anything unusual? I don't think it's "normal" for that to happen with EBF poo; at least I never experienced that until we started solids.

Is it normal for EBF poop to suddenly change in smell, from benign to truly horrifying?

Yesterday morning, the first diaper I changed smelled suuuper bad, like rotten/sort of fishy and nasty. I thought maybe our diaper pail was stinky, so I washed everything and switched to disposables to try and isolate the stink. It's not our diapers and when a diaper holds only pee it doesn't smell bad, but every time she has pooped since then is just super nasty smelling. Same color as normal, though. Is this something I should be concerned about or a normal part of baby growing older? She's 12 weeks old. Could it be something in my diet? Is it something I should worry about?
