I also had to take it during pregnancy due to a deficiency and I was told by my doctor then that Vitamin D isn't passed from mother to baby and that's why they recommend the drops now. Aside from being anemic from 6-12 months his bloodwork has been fine.</p> <p>I didn't take any until we learned I was deficient, then I was on 50000 IU/week for awhile. I almost wasn't able to take it because of it being made with soy oil and with LO's allergies the pharmacy wouldn't give it to me (it's also a high dose).
