If you want to stay away from that, we love jigsaw puzzles, legos, magnatiles. I am a<br /> Speech therapist and use them for work, but my 3 year old loves them. They're all educational. I just bought one called Bus Stop and it targets adding and subtracting as the people grt in and off the bus. The games are super colourful and really appeal to kids. They said they are buying it for him for his birthday because he was obsessed. I think her son really likes it, too. My 4.5 year old is a cardshark at Go Fish and she also loves Hoot Owl Hoot. Most of it could probably be compiled separately, but it was nice to have all in one place ready to go. She also has a few educational puzzles - one of the body, the solar system and a floor puzzle of all the states. If your kids don't have magnatiles, I'd also heartily recommend them.
