It sounds like he had a great morning so far! Fingers crossed that he has a great day!! </p> <p>The school year is going better than anticipated. My DD's first week of 1st grade was pretty good but a bit of a challenge trying to navigate the complexities of public school pickup, drop off, rules, paperwork, etc! My DS also had a great transition to early childhood at the end of last week. Hope the week goes well for all! </p> https://boards.hellobee.com/topic/eek-its-the-1st-day-of-kindergarten#post-1844730 Tue, 02 Sep 2014 08:04:35 +0000 Mamaof2 1844730@https://boards.hellobee.com/ <p>Today is the day!</p> <p>DS woke up on his own and came in my room all dressed and ready for school!</p> <p>He had on his new shoes and a new shirt that he picked out with a werewolf on it!</p> <p>His new Darth Vader water bottle was filled and a blueberry muffin was sent in for his AM snack.</p> <p>I dropped him off at DCP and he was a little nervous but no tears - however I am now sitting at work an emotional mess!</p> <p>DS is anxious in new situations so I am wondering how the day will go.</p> <p>K is only 1/2 day here so he will return to DCP in the afternoon.</p> <p>His K teacher told me she would send me an email and let me know how his 1st day went - I will be anxiously awaiting for that email!</p> <p>I think there are 4-5 other school aged moms on here - how is the school year going (if you started last week) or how did the morning go (if you start today)?</p> <p>as a side note - parents are not allowed past the curb on 1st day of school - they say it makes the day harder for the kids to separate from the parents so I figured rather than drop him off at the curb where they pull him away from me crying he would do much better by having DCP drop him off - his teacher agreed with me. </p>
