My eldest had an egg allergy from the beginning ( I had to eliminate eggs while BF). After age one it was a lot less severe and he could tolerate small amounts in baked goods and now at age 2 it is almost totally gone.

LO had an egg intolerance. It wasn't a full-blown allergy. However, hers presented itself with lots and lots of puke - yolks or whites. She outgrew it by 15/16 months.

@Corduroy: Bleh. LO loves egg, too. I guess we'll wait and see what the dr says!

@wheres_c: I'm really hoping this is the case for us. I'm crossing my fingers that she grows out of it. It seems so scary to be prescribed an epi pen! But it's definitely better to be on the safe side. I'm glad your LO seems to tolerate egg now!

My LO was tested after a non life threatening reaction.
He had a blood draw and was on the lowest end of the scale.
We were prescribed an epi pen just in case - we were told its unlikely we would ever need to use it, but that after one reaction, there was a potential for a worse reaction next time.

we were Advised to avoid eggs and egg containing products until 12m and then retest.
His daddy has accidentally fed him egg containing products since then, and no reaction thank goodness!

We just retested at 12m and the test showed up positive still.
Since it also tested positive for milk (and he tolerates this just fine) she said we can try reintroducing egg whenever but make sure we have the epi pen handy.

My LO got a bright red chin rash when I gave her yolk at 7 months. It went away on its own in 30 minutes. I took her to an allergist and she said no egg until 18 months (baked goods with egg could be tried at 12). She advised against testing and said she would not change her reintroduction timing advice even if the test was negative. Bummer because LO loved the yolk and I eat eggs almost every morning.

My sister had an egg allergy that she outgrew by 2 years old. She also is allergic to nuts, which she never outgrew.

Okay so LO is 8 months old. She's EBF and has never had a problem when I've eaten eggs. She's had baked goods that contain full egg multiple times, and she's had scrambled yolk multiple times. All with no issue.

Today I gave her full scrambled egg for the 2nd time, and for the 2nd time she's gotten a few spots around her chin and two on her hands. Seemingly where the egg touched her skin. No other symptoms, and the spots disappear within 15 minutes. This reaction seemed even more minor than the first.

The first time she had scrambled eggs was at a restaurant and so I thought there was maybe some cross contamination, but today her eggs were just straight up. No butter, no milk, no oil, etc.

I will be bringing this up with her Dr later this month, but I was curious to hear about others' egg allergies. Did you/LO grow out of it? Did the reaction get worse with subsequent exposure?

I feel bad because she *loves* scrambled eggs so much :/
