That's awesome! Can I ask what you guys did, if anything, to help him get to that point? Our allergist gave us a recipe for baked egg muffins but he was too little initially (9 months), so we are just now about to start making it for him. (14 months)

Congrats! We've also had an egg allergy outgrown. @Shopoholicmom: my daughter could always tolerate eggs baked/cooked into things so I always fed her those foods, per our allergist's instructions.

@2PeasinaPod: amazing! Just out of curiousity, did you feed him any sort of eggs after you found out about the allergy? Our 3 year old can handle about 1 bite of baked egg, and our allergist said the best way to help him outgrow the allergy would be to feed him a single bite every day. So I guess I'm wondering if you helped "prime" his immune system, so to speak, during all the years he was considered allergic.

I know there are a lot of moms out there with kiddos who have allergies. Our oldest had an allergy to eggs that was identified just before 1 year, and a tree nut allergy that was identified when he was 4.

Well, today, we went for his egg challenge, and he passed with flying colors! I can't tell you how relieved I am to check something off the list. Eggs are in so much, and I'm excited to make him his first waffle, pancake, and french toast! Even some ice creams and custards have eggs in them...so excited!

Next on the list are some tree nuts. He had his reaction to cashews which are related to pistachios. He skin tested positive for those, but negative for others, so she wants to be 100% about the negatives before we attempt to give him those nuts again. But hooray for a small victory today!
