They couldn't tell us girl or boy at the anatomy scan, so I booked an elective scan to see if we had a better chance. We did! I had to pay out of pocket, but it was only $50. </p> <p>I know the fetal DNA tests are very expensive and not always covered by insurance. </p> <p>I suggested the blood test because of its high accuracy rate. They had a comfy recliner with a huge TV that showed the ultrasound. She got some great shots and said they are 99% accurate. ( I can't remember if you are or not!) If your tech has good equipment and gets a side shot, the nub theory is pretty accurate and is a good way to tell. Could you do that instead? It was a nice place, ultrasound was done on a bed. She had me empty by bladder after taking a look, told DH she thought she knew but wanted a better look before telling us. Just wondering what your experience was if you had one done.. Good and bad!</p> <p>I'm expecting that if its a boy it will be pretty easy to tell by then, but Ive heard some stories of people being told girl, when it's really a boy. </p>
