I tried those characters ones, but the brush heads seemed too big for their little mouths so I didn't feel like it did a good job. I haven't looked around for something with smaller heads, but I would keep that in mind.

@Foodnerd81: I assume so, it doesn't seem to have bothered them. When I replace the heads I just make sure and get soft or extra soft or something for them.

@shellio: I was thinking I'd want some character or design on it that she would like. But maybe she would just rather t look more like ours. Are the bristles soft enough?

We have a basic oral B brush (from Costco, same one an adult would buy) for each of our kids. I figure, I've had the same electric toothbrush for 8+ years now, worth the investment to just get them something that they can use throughout their childhood. And at 4 we definitely still brush my son's teeth, he is not thorough enough but maybe soon?

@chopsuey: oh I still plan to brush first then let her do it. She's not exactly thorough at not even 2.5. :)

I got him a cheap firefly brand one just to see if he would like it. He LOVED it and wore the batteries out in two months. I bought him two oral B spin brushes for Christmas. But I did have to let him open one last week when his other one quit working. I'm pretty sure you can change the batteries on the Oral B ones. He has always likes brushing his teeth, but this makes it even easier for me to get all the teeth!

We just use the oral b spin brush. They are cheap enough I just throw them out when the battery dies. I figure it would be time for a new one anyway!

I've seen and heard the recommendation for an electric toothbrush to help with toddler toothbrushing. Any recommendation for specific types? Did you just get whatever one they had at CVS or Target? Is it reusable (like buy new heads for it) or just a disposable one?

Ha- merry Christmas kid- here's a toothbrush. :silly:
