Nowhere near as tight as I would like. There are so many ways to sneak onto campus and it's so easy to get somewhere without someone from the office seeing. I wish it was fully fences and had a better setup. :/

Right now, only a small part of the building is being used, so there are only two doors as I know it.

There's no buzzing or anything like that right now, but I am assuming that once the main building opens, it's going to be secured.

All exterior doors are locked. Front doors have a buzzer with a camera. Visitors check in on a computer system and it prints them a visitor badge. Our playground is fenced and if people play on it during school hours we ask them to leave. WTeachers do agreat job of knowing who is picked up, rides the bus, or goes to daycare. We have cards we can check if someone we don't recognize picks up kids.

I guess I forget that we are unlike most in that our school isn't really a single building. It's a campus. Each classroom opens to an outdoor sidewalk/corridor. Each corridor is open to either end of the school (front or back). So besides fences and gates there isn't a way to really keep it all locked up during the day.

Pretty strict. Parents aren't allowed in the building, at all, during drop off and pick up. Everyone must sign in and show picture ID. If someone other than you picks up, they better be on the list AND have their picture ID ready.

My work is fenced in, you need to be buzzed into the front office and there is a resource officer daily! I find it pretty secure

You have to be buzzed in to the building, and have to go through the main office to get into the school. To pick up a child in the car line, you have to have your car registered with the school and have a designated hanging tag on the mirror.

Our schools all have exactly what @Mrs. Tiger has. Middle and high school have additional restrictions (ID's at all time or students are sent home, officer in building at all time, etc)

At my daughter's pre-k (it's the public school pre-k in town), they have security guards at each entrance during the morning, from 8:30-8:45, then all doors are locked except the front entrance. For the rest of the day, parents and visitors can only enter there and sign in with the security guards. Pick up and drop off are both INSIDE the classroom--not outside, and only people on the list given by parents can pick up and drop off.

Visitors have to be buzzed in the front door, which has a camera, and then check in at the office right inside the door. I can't tell if there are other restrictions...

What is the security like in your elementary school?
Our county just started school resource officers at each elementary school. No name tags or badges for students. No restrictions on clear bags or anything.

There are fences but many entrances. Visitors are told to sign in but obviously minimal enforcement.

Pick up could very easily be changed if your child was willing to Go with someone else.
