DH and I don't have any children yet, but he told me he wants me to home school once we do. His exact words were "You always wanted to be a teacher. You should teach our children in a safe environment. I don't want to have to worry about my children never coming home again." I thought that was sweet. I know it doesn't make it better but had she already been at the school it would atleast make "more" sense that the children got caught in the mental breakdown cross-fire. I can't help but try to look for a "reason," for some sort of explanation for how a person can shoot a bunch of 5 year old babies, not to mention everyone else. I know there's no explanation that would make it better, but I just can't stop thinking about why a person would do that. There are just no words. Not to mention the terror the other kids at the school will deal with.</p> <p>When I was in Elementary school, a man with a gun entered my school. Luckily a staff member intercepted him and forced him into a bathroom where he killed himself, while we all evacuated to another nearby school. It was terrifying, and although this man only killed himself, I know it took a long time for many kids to feel safe at school again.
