oh ok. no place i've worked addressed it though I noticed the majority of people still put one on. Now I work a few odd jobs so it changes and sometimes the people overlap and I feel a little silly emailing them with different signatures but I don't think anyone's going to read too much into it I guess.

I have a required/standard work email signature, but not one for personal emails. If I'm sending a formal email via my personal email, I generally sign off with "Regards, (my name)."

@MamaMoose: yes or how about when one letter at a time zooms across the screen? i don't know what that function is called but sometimes they do that in power point presentations -- if you know what i am talking about.

On my work email I have a signature that includes in my name, title, and all my contact info. We also have compliance language under that. I don't delete out my signature when I send personal emails from work though. My home account has no signature.

Also... while we're on the topic.. am I the only one who finds it super annoying when people have little quotes or song lyrics on the bottom of their WORK emails?? Please tell me I'm not.

When I was working, it was mandatory to have a certain signature for all emails that are sent from the work account, personal or work related.

We had an automatic compliance filter on all emails, it looked for certain words and also size of files.

I have a signature for my professional stuff--standard in academia. I have a line from a song set as the signature in my personal email. Kind of high school, but oh well. :)

For my work email, I have my name (including maiden name), job title, work address, email, office phone, and fax number. The main reason is because we moved our office location last year and I wanted to make sure everyone knew that we moved. I did write a reminder that we moved as of a certain date and to take note of the new address.

I don't have a signature for my personal email.

I have a work signature but not personal. I don't send any personal emails from work after one bad experience of the compliance officer reading all my emails. It was his job and he read everybody's emails but I stopped after I saw him doing that!

I don't have an email signature. I probably would if I was working though. DH always deletes his signature when he writes personal emails

I notice a lot of the emails I get have some clarification of the persons degree/work title etc.

I can see why it's helpful but never have done this. Do you include a signature on every email you send including to friends? Do you change your signature depending on who you email?
