Mine were so bad and I would bleed (a lot) for a few days at a time. I ended up with a fissure and it is one of the most painful things I have ever experienced (it feels like the ring of fire every time I have a "hard" BM.) Main thing is keeping your BM soft so you can heal down there... for me Miralax works wonders and I take a capful with orange juice every day! Agreed that sitz/epsom salt baths are the most helpful, but a bit of a pain. So, it may be easier to just take frequent showers. On a different note, are you using a steroid cream to reduce inflammation? It can be as simple as adding a probiotic or mild laxative like metamucill, benefiber, or mirlax. Dannon activia daily really helps me. I still have hemorrhoids. Usually they don't bother me too much - sometimes they flare up a bit with a bowel movement, but for the most part, I think they were on their way to going away. But today, I had a big BM, and I am now bleeding. I think it actually ripped a hemorrhoid open?! Is it time to call my doctor to ask about getting it/them removed? Or do I just need to deal with this and continue to just let it/them heal? </p>
