@hellobeeboston: this just happened to me while doing yoga (at home) the other day and I was pretty shocked. Glad I’m not the only one! I’m not sure if I would risk yoga in a public setting one day because of it.

I didn’t know it could be related to a weakened core and pelvic floor.

@mrskansas: I don't have any solutions but I've been battling this since having my second (or first?). I went to see my doctor after loudly gassing my cubicle area more than once. I could track my experience to when I was nearing a BM but I could swear it wasn't a fart because I couldn't do anything to hold it in. I went to see the doctor and I was checked for a fistula but the doctor didn't find one and basically shrugged and wished me good luck with it.

Eventually I figured out that my BM seemed to be squeezing the air from my vagina/uterus(?) as I first got that 'maybe I need to poop' feeling. I trained myself to respond to that feeling immediately and/or try to get up from my desk when nobody is sitting near me. The noise still happens in the bathroom but that's much better than at my cube neighbors' face level in a quiet office. At least they just thought I had stomach problems.

I did some pelvic floor work which I think helped but I wasn't trying to address that directly. I hadn't thought about it in a while thanks to working from home or an empty office.

@mrskansas: I (sadly) can totally relate! :bummed:

Mostly it happens to me when I'm doing yoga! If I'm in a certain position with my leg up in the air I can feel air enter then it tends to make a loud noise on the way out... Luckily I'm just doing yoga in my home, but someday I'd like to get back to a yoga studio and this problem isn't going away for me.

From what I've read some core and pelvic strengthening is likely needed. I've been really bad about taking some time each day to work on it so it's not getting better.

I did some pelvic floor PT after having my second baby due to a minor prolapse. It got a lot better but have been having this issue... I wish I had an answer for you but just sympathy! If you do call your doc let me know what they say!

The past few weeks I have been having issues with vaginal "gas." :meh: Google isn't helpful because it says that is normal during/after sex but I have this even if I haven't had sex that day. It normally happens if I get up in the middle of the night and it's so loud and embarrassing but I can't do anything to control it.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm going to call my doctor but OMG I want this to stop
