Toyota has a great extended warranty program for certified used Toyotas - its basically an extension of the factory warranty, covers everything except your normal wear and tear items. I don't know if Honda does something similar, but I wouldn't be surprised.</p> <p>I would definitely check out Edmunds.com before you go car shopping - you need to know what your trade is worth and what you should pay for the car you select. We used this time to take it to a mechanic and drove it around a lot to get a feel for it. She has had it for 5 years and has had no problems with it. She's a complainer, so we'd know if she hates it, too! My vehicle started acting up last week and died Sunday. Had it towed away and the repairs cost more than we can afford (13 year old vehicle). :( We have decided to trade it in towards something new(er).</p> <p>We had planned on getting a new car at the end of the year, but thought we would be replacing DH's 15 year old jeep, not my Subaru! :( the Jeep has no a/c and we both work so I need a new car ASAP!</p> <p>Not financially prepared for this at all, but hopefully it all works out. This will be the first car I have ever purchased, not looking forward to a car payment, but feeling so "grown up" (@31, it's about time!) </p>
