I believe I went at 6 weeks and only saw sag. It was internal u/s too. Hopefully you can see hb at the next one! Are they also checking your blood for rising numbers?

Yes my understanding is you can't see as much with an abdominal ultrasound that early. Fwiw my transvaginal at 6w only showed empty sacs and I'm 20 weeks with twins. I'm sure it will all be ok!

@Little Misters Mom: @Mrs. Lion: thanks! You're stories are calming my nerves a bit. I was surprised they only did abdominal, I had a transvaginal after the abdominal showed no heart beat at 9 weeks last time. Two weeks can't come soon enough!

I had an ultrasound with just the sac at 7w and have a healthy boy to show for it. So, I wouldn't get worried. The quality of the ultrasound machine makes a huge difference, so it can be hard to compare online. If your doctor is happy, try to relax (I know it can be hard, though). Congratulations!

@Mrsk: I went in for an ultrasound at 5 weeks 6 days (if I'm remembering correctly) and also only saw an empty sac. Did they really do an abdominal ultrasound? I've never had one of those until 12 weeks (all my early ultrasounds have been trans-vaginal) so that may play a role too...maybe they couldn't see as much detail?

At least from my experience, doctors don't say things look positive if they don't! Embrace the "today I am pregnant" mantra...because you are! <3

I had AF on oct 1 and then again (yes again! this has happened the last 3 cycles, so not normal for me!) on oct 7. We DTD eod after AF until I got my BFP on nov 1. I had an ultra sound this past week on nov 18. The ultra sound tech did an abdominal ultra sound and only found an empty sac. My doctor interpreted this as good news and says I'm right on track and going back in 2 weeks to double check, and has put me on progesterone just in case, (2 previous losses.)

So if going by the first AF, I would have been 6w6d, and by the second AF, I would have been 6w exactly (but this would also mean that I got a BFP, at 11dpo and it was a pretty strong line that came up right away).

So what do you all think, do you think there is still a chance that is will turn out positively? From what I can see on google, there should be something in the sac by the end of the 5thweek....
