He stopped napping a few weeks before turning three. It's been hard, but at least he goes to bed at a reasonable time now.

Just before turning 3 - I was so sad! ;) And there are kids in her class that still nap everyday and now that I have a baby too, I'm jealous!

He was 4 when he stopped napping nearly daily, but he would still take a nap a few times a month or so when he was 5. My husband even gets him to nap once in a blue moon on the weekends now (but that usually requires a really hard morning of play/outdoor time plus a slightly later than normal bedtime the night before to achieve).

He fought naps hard for a while at/around 2, but I stayed longer with him while he was going down and eventually he stopped being so resistant.

My 3 year old has been playing in her bed instead of napping a couple of times a week. I can handle that- at least she gets quiet time (and I do too!) but she frequently has meltdowns by bedtime. I wish she would nap- she needs it. But playing quietly is ok

Both my kids only nap at school, so weekends/summers/when they are home with me it is a doozie! DD stopped napping probably around 18 months and DS stopped around age 3. Sometimes I can get them to fall asleep in the car if we are driving around.

ugh, my 3 year old has been fighting naps hard lately. Unfortunately she still really needs them. Our routine is to typically go for a walk after they both nap, my 3 year old will crash within minutes of going in the stroller. I wish she would just nap properly in her bed! She still naps at daycare though. ( Usually only 45min-1hr though.) I'm still going to keep pushing it, I can't have her not nap!

My DD just turned 3 and she has not been wanting to nap lately either so I experimented with skipping it for a few days this week- disaster ensued. She was so cranky by dinner that she didn't want to eat (even though I made things she normally loves) and she would not fall asleep any earlier either. I'll try again in a couple of months but I'm honestly glad she still needs them since we are expecting #2 and I would love it if all of us could have a nap for the next few months!

Oh boy. I remember DS1 went through phases of fighting his naps once he turned 2. He became a 50% of the time napper by age 2.5 and was done by 34 months when we switched to a bed.

How old was your LO when they officially stopped taking naps?

My oldest was around 3, if I remember properly. My youngest is really fighting naps, but once he's down he sleeps a good while. Or if he doesn't nap he's so cranky or will fall asleep during dinner. Hoping and planning to keep naps around for a while still!
