@pui: I know you aren't going to need this because you will get your BFP on Saturday, but a EMB is something that I just started doing during my gyn month of training. Most patients will experience some moderate cramping during the procedure. We generally recommend taking Ibuprofen or advil 30 min prior to procedure. The actual biopsy tool looks like a long skinny straw. It acts as kind of a suction device- and takes only a few seconds. Some patient have mild spotting afterwards, but the pain goes away fairly quickly.

That being said- I hope it relieves some anxiety, but i have confidence that you won't need it! I am really really really hoping this is the month for your :bfp:

@LindsayInNY: Back in April I went to a new RE for a consult and he was like "why don't you come back in a week for a beta?" and I said "for what!?" and he said "because you could be pregnant" and I laughed so hard. But I was! (Later had a m/c but that's beside the point) But the nurses there say it happens all the time that patients come in pregnant and don't know it!

@pui: I was given the "list" of tests as well including this one....once they do the hormone blood tests, and u/s and HSG if all looks clear and they don't see any signs of Endometriosis you should not have to do this procedure... I'm only talking from my experience.

Me and DH first had to get blood tests up the wazooo.....lol
Then I had an exam including a pap, then I had u/s day 3 u/s and blood day day 12 and again day 21....

Inbetween I had an HSG....that cam back fine

Hey, yeah I was going to get it done, but then I got pregnant again. That was in Feb/March. (MC at about 8 weeks.) I guess my RE decided my lining or whatever wasn't the problem since I did get pregnant, and she hasn't brought it up since then.

But yeah, I was terrified of it, and really didn't want to do it. Especially since they don't seem to be big on pain relief here! I also read online that it wasn't fun.

@pui: I don't see the harm in doing it, but if I were you I'd ask for drugs. Good luck!

Hmm... I don't know when they plan on doing this test, it was just on the list of tests they told me they're doing.

In the end I'm fine with doing it.

@pui: I agree with @Mrs.Someone; I think you're probably already pregnant and don't need any testing! But I also agree that of all the testing they could do, an endometrial scratch test comes last and is only done if they've done every other test and they find something that indicates a reason to suspect something is wrong with your lining. IIRC @TheSwissWifeStyle was going to have this done?

It's covered by public health care.

They are doing hormone testing too. They are doing basically every test under the sun, a battery of tests. I am going to be a guineapig/pincushion for the next month.

Lol I hope so too!

I haven't had one, but to me it sounds like they're really jumping the gun with this invasive test. I hope you're not paying out of pocket for anything? #1 should always be hormone testing (cd3 and 7dpo), especially since you're having trouble O'ing on your own. Most women can get pregnant once their hormones are in check.

In the US, I think its pretty uncommon to have any sort of physical test (ultrasound, HSG, etc.) until trying for a year at least, unless there is a specific cause for concern earlier.

But I think you're knocked up and wont get there anyway ;)

I am getting a LOT of tests done this coming cycle (if I am not pregnant, FX still!) but of all the tests I am getting done, this is the one that is making me the most nervous. Sounds... painful.

Anyone else have a Endometrial Biopsy of the Uterus? What was the procedure like? My RE said it is not fun but it's quick. Is this accurate? Please share your experiences!
