@MamaG: the flow needs really depend on your lo. I think we used dr brown's #1 for a really long time, but my Lo definitely couldn't deal with a fast flow. If have two sizes on hand just to see what Lo does ok with.

@Mrs Green Grass: was it thick like needing a larger nipple? My doc said no, but many reviews I've read suggest otherwise

Bumpity bump. We have a lot of spit up issues. LO is 4 months and spits up for the entire 2-3 hours between bottles. She's happy and gaining wet, just is making a mess of everything with her spit up. We were using Similac Sensitive and recently changed to Enfamil Gentlease. Her ped recommended Enfamil AR today and gave up a few sample cans. He said it wouldn't be thick in the bottle, but would thicken in the stomach.

How has this formula worked for others? We aren't doing any sort of reflux meds.

Our lo spits up with regular formula so we use Enfamil Prosobee, equally expensive, but it works well! She use to "spit" the entire bottle of regular formula up within 5 minutes, now she doesn't. We still breastfeed 95% of the time, trying to slowly switch her to formula.

I was thinking of doing the sensitivity formula and then adding rice, kind of like hitting two birds with one stone. @ash: do you think that is a silly idea??

@MrsH: generic of Zantac. They told me if it wasn't helping to call the ped and have the dose re-evaluated... you might want to do that! But they did say that it may not help her spitup and to either put her back on A/R if needed, or start introducing baby oatmeal (our ped doesn't like the rice cereal) to bottles to help her keep spitup down. We haven't had to do that yet but it's still early. So definitely talk to your ped but they may say to just go on the A/R to help it. Good luck!!!

Yes, I was told to get Similac for Spit Up (same thing basically) and started buying the generic version which is the generic of the A/R. I've used both Target and Walmart brand... I think it was $16 or 18. I didn't really notice any difference from the Similac. Both REALLY improved her spit up. We went off it thinking maybe milk allergy/sensitivity but turns out she had reflux... we're back on just normal with the reflux meds, but if she started spitting up again for any reason I would not hesitate to go back to the generic A/R.
