@MamaBehr: @Alivoo01: Usually I hand express for around a minute just to get a bit of relief. I'm scared to do more or pump as I don't want to make my supply issue worse. The other night S latched on, I let down, she flew off a few seconds later and my milk was really squirting out in her face :(

I agree with @MamaBehr: suggestion on relieving the engorgement. Even if it's just hand expressing a lil out. I remember feeling like I needed to pump ALL the time even though I just pumped like an hour ago!

I remember in the beginning that happening a lot. I'm pretty sure your body will regulate itself, but if not you could always pump a LITTLE just to get some relief. Don't empty your breasts, just enough to not feel like you are going to explode.

S is 5wks old and since the weekend my boobs have become engorged again, like in the very early days, between feeds. I wondered if this is normal and my supply will regulate itself again as her demands change? Recently she's been going from 3hrs to 3.5 or 4hrs between feeds and spending less time on the boob (10-20mins rather than half an hour). We had her weighed yesterday and she's gaining well with plenty of wet and dirty nappies, so I'm not too worried about anything else other than my boobs and possibly getting clogged ducts or worse.
