It can help to start with doing a few days of not pumping until empty, but just pump until you're not in pain anymore. It'll cue your body that you don't need as much milk overnight, making it much easier to drop feeds.

Good luck!

Or, if you typically go 4-5 hours between pumps/nursing sessions, stretch it to 6, then 7, etc until you can drop it.

I think you can just drop 1 at a time without doing anything special-- just start skipping it!

I am mostly pumping, but nursing in the middle of the night because its easier, and LO seems to do it for comfort rather than hunger.

She has now been sleeping longer stretches at night, but I still get up to pump 1-2x in the middle of the night because my boobs hurt! Any tips on how I can stop without pain or getting an infection? I need that long stretch of sleep!
