@mediagirl: ok, so I talked to one of the surgeons today and she said that's one of the easy fixes. Recovery isn't bad, you just need to have a couple few lazy days around the house.

@mediagirl: my LO has a hernia at that age. I don’t recall which kind of hernia. She had surgery at 22 months. It was a super simple surgery and recovery. I think we were supposed to keep her activity level low for a couple of days. No issues at all. She has the faintest scar a couple of inches above her bellybutton.

I remember being really stressed out, but it was super quick - almost as fast as getting tubes.

No personal experience, but I can ask the general surgeon I work for next week about it. From what I've seen they're a fairly quick and easy recovery compared to other hernia repairs.

Does anyone have experience with their lo having an epigastric hernia? I'm pretty sure that is what our youngest has. Since birth she has had a soft bump on her upper abdomen. The doctors have let it be and at her recent (9mo) visit, we were told when she is older they will refer us to a general surgeon to fix it.

I'm curious what the surgery and recover were like.
