I stopped using it a little after 4 months. But I still use the pillow to boost her butt up at 5+ months.

I can't remember exactly when we stopped using it, but I feel like we used it for at least 3 months. I then realized that I could just use the pillow and it worked perfectly. Like @Pepper said, a lot of people recommend using a folded blanket. Personally, I like the pillow because LO was short and that gives a good amount of boost and I already had it.

LO is just about 10 lbs at almost 8 weeks and we just use a rolled up A&A blanket under his bum. No insert anymore; he's too long. Like @rahlyrah said, his head is supported without the insert, so no worries there.

B is just shy of 12 pounds but we already stopped using it. He is so small, he sinks down into it and his head ends up being supported anyway.

Dang, my little budgie barely breaks 9 pounds at 10 weeks...we're going to be in the insert for awhile!

We stopped using it at eight weeks. She had great head control, was fourteen pounds and too long for it.

When did you stop using the insert in your Ergo? Did you stop using the pillow first?

DS has decided he does not like any froggy leg position anymore in both the Ergo and the Moby. No problem with the Moby, but I'm a little hesitant with the Ergo! He meets the 12 pound requirement, but I wonder if he needs the head and neck support the insert offers. He is 11 weeks.
