@catomd00: You can't cross the straps in the Ergo.

We walked around a bit and the new position is much more comfortable for me, but H is not a fan. I hope it just takes a little getting used to for her because I have to wear her at least twice a day to walk our dog.

I think the second pic looks much more comfortable for you both. You could try a hip carry too in the ergo--I haven't figured it out yet, but there are several YouTube videos you can watch.

Can you cross cross the straps in the back with the ergo? I have a beco Gemini and you can do either crossed or uncrossed and I find crossed so much more comfortable!

@avivoca: That looks like it will be more comfortable for you. Like @MamaChin I wear my babies higher too, its annoying if you want to eat or drink anything while wearing them but I think it is more comfortable. You might even try moving the waistband up a bit higher - having it around the waist rather than the hips is a good point.

@avivoca: I third the adjusting the waist band so it's parallel. I have a short torso too and like others have said, I have to move the waist band up closer to my waist.

I only use our ergo occasionally though and T is only 5 months/14.5 pounds so I'm not sure how valid my advice is.

Btw: CUTE PIC!!

We still wear our 16 month old on the front in the ergo, but it's less comfortable as she gets older. We use a wrap more often, but I've heard that Tulas are more comfortable for older babies too.

@avivoca: You two are adorable! I second adjusting the waist band so it is parallel to the ground. This doesn't mean LO has to be right up in your face - consider loosening up the shoulder straps a bit to where she is sitting down a little lower, like in a pouch. This isn't scientific but just a guess from looking at your pic :)

Don't know if it would help with the comfort, but have you tried having her on your hip? My DS started to get frustrated with the front position at that age, he wanted to look all around and not just at my chest. It just takes a minute to make the adjustments, and you could alternate sides. This might not be more comfortable though!

Here is a link to the instructional videos on the ergo website (I always have to be shown things like this to understand them!)

We are the exact same height and weight, DD is also 18 pounds (but she's 4.5 months so probably shorter). I have to wear her pretty high to be comfortable, the strap is more at my waist than hips.

I believe the weight limit is across the board 45 pounds. I have definitely worn heavier babies on my front in it without issue. Do you want to maybe post a photo of you wearing it to see if someone can offer a suggestion on how to adjust to make it more comfortable?

Personally, I need to make sure it is hiked up pretty high and that I have all the straps pulled snug to get a comfortable fit. When I let anything sag or sit too loose I get uncomfortable quickly.

Hey Bees, I need some help. Is there a recommended age/weight where you can't wear your LO in the front carry? H is nearly 10 months old and 18 pounds. I wore her walking for about an hour today and my back was absolutely aching afterwards. She's not a huge fan of the back carry and I don't find it especially comfortable for me in the Ergo.

Any tips and advice you have is appreciated! We are traveling and baby wearing is my favorite way to walk around with H. I brought our Bumbleride but that thing is a beast to haul around.
