@MrsBrewer: We used one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Jolly-Jumper-Snuggle-Cover-Carriers/dp/B001P1VBH4/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1448065745&sr=1-1&keywords=jolly+jumper+snuggle+cover+for+soft+baby+carriers

I really liked it because it worked for the car seat and the stroller as well -- we just had to adjust the strap. And it was easy to put on and take off quickly, so it was perfect to go from the car to the store or whatever.

When she was that little I wore my puffy coat that could zip part way over her, and I dressed her in a fleecy bunting like @PawPrints: posted. It was nice because I put the hood up and could fold the mitten part of the sleeves over her hands. She was always plenty warm in that with just regular long sleeve onesie and pants underneath, and her face stayed warm enough because she was facing in. I also wore a fleece scarf that I put between me and her, one for my own warmth, but also for when she drooled or spit up- easier to take just the scarf off and wash it :)

I have a kokoala and it worked wonderfully with my Canada goose coat. He didn't even need to wear a jacket. Just warm layers and he was as warm as I was.

I just use lots of layers. I layer and then use what @PawPrints: posted. I would also put a fuzzy blanket between baby and me in the carrier, or between the carrier and the baby. Then I would put blankets over the carrier.
You can get a mens L/XL (whatever you need) fleece zipup and either do it up around you both. I have a babywearing sweatshirt ( http://www.boba.com/boba-hoodie#Black ) that I wear around us.
I also love this blanket
https://www.chapters.indigo.ca/en-ca/baby/gifts/snuggle-bunny-wrap-cream/882709115632-item.html?ref=shop%3ababy%3ababy-babyessentials%3ababy-essentials-bath%3a4%3a

It has a hood and then you can wrap the rest around the baby/carrier. I use them allllll the time.

I have a baby wearing coat.
There are a lot of zip in coat extenders on the market now. kokoala, makemybellyfit, etc.
The 7am Pookie Poncho is great too and very warm.

I dressed the baby warmly, put on a scarf that I could use to shield his head from wind, and wore a larger coat. But there were some days (when it was below 10 F or so) when he would just shutter the whole time we were outside and act as though it hurt to breath. So I learned to stay inside on those days.

Not Ergo but Lillebaby is the same in the warmth issue. We have a couple of these that people have given us. They work well in the carrier.

If you look on Etsy there are "baby wearing jacket extenders" that just zip into your current jacket. I imagine you'd have to find one that works with your current jacket style though? I'm not really much help because I live in CA.

I also found this company:
http://makemybellyfit.com

Babywearing jacket but I heard they were very expensive. If you join a co-op, you can get a baby wearing jacket made cheaper.

I wear a really big jacket that covers us both. If it's really cold, I wear a sweatshirt and she wears a light jacket underneath the Ergo. We both stay toasty warm.

DS was a small baby so he stayed in the infant insert part for a majority of the winter which was hella warm as is! I dressed him warm also and used the hood of the Ergo a lot to block out the wind.

I dressed LO warmly, and I wore a jacket that covered the both of us. It was a jacket I bought while pregnant and accommodated my growing belly. A maternity jacket would work just the same. In situations where we would be walking around a lot outside, I would put LO in a bunting.

Wear a bigger jacket so you can zip her up too? They sell special babywearing jackets, but most of them I've seen are $$.

Or get one of these -

What do you do in winter? I will in WI, so we get very cold and very snowy winters! I have a 5.5 month old, and I would love to keep wearing her, but I want to make sure she's staying warm enough!

Any suggestions?
