@BabyBoecksMom: my husband and sister still comfortablly use the standard tula and j is 17 months 28 pounds. I'm 7 months pregnant and prefer the toddler tula but I'd say that has more to do with the bump ;)

@Foodnerd81: ha yea, j can get his arms out but it's not his first response in the tula, it makes it super uncomfortable when they do it and reach :)

@jetsa: @BabyBoecksMom: this makes me kind of want a Tula too. But c had been putting her arms over the top of the beco for a while, she just doesn't like being confined. I don't think that alone is a reason to get a new one. (Says the mom who kind of wants a new one anyway...) :silly:

@jetsa: thanks for posting that link. I have a beco but, she's 10 months old and 20 lbs, and she can get her arms over the top. I hate to get a new one, but you might have convinced me. How long could you wear your LO in the Tula?

@LindsayInNY: this link has a good side by side compareison
http://thehappyhippiehomemaker.blogspot.com/2013/05/ergo-vs-boba-vs-tula-carrier-comparison.html Theres a table that shows the back of the ergo is 13" tall whereas the ergo is 15.5" There is also a picture that shows the straps and how much padding each has.

I liked the overall feel of the Tula, but the Ergo won out for me because of the hood and the pocket. We used the hood a ton and Tula's hood sucked (in my opinion). The Tula's buckles also felt super cheap to me, too. That being said, people LOVE Tulas, and I think if you weren't going to use the hood a bunch, it'd be fine. They're pretty comparable I think, but the Tula has more of a "cult" following (and the price shows it). :)

@jetsa: Ahh, I didn't know or think of that. I guess the sizing of LO is also a possible issue.

We have both. The standard tula size will be work longer for your baby. We only had the ergo until my son was 8 months old, at which point he was close to 20 pounds and could get his arms over the top of the ergo and arch his back. When he did this it was extremely uncomfortable for me and really just the 20 lbs was starting to get uncomfortable. My DH thought I was crazy to order a Tula when we had the ergo but from the 1st time we tried it he never went back to using the ergo either ;) I think in a small/young baby the differences are minimal as they get taller the extra height in the back of the tula and the additional padding in the strap really adds to the adults comfort.

Tula has a lot of fun prints and have great resale value. I have an ergo sport that we use often, I just want a more fun print.

Trying to decide between the two... I feel like the differences are kinda minimal? What am I missing for either?
